Advance tickets - £4

Off The Record focuses on underground House, Bass, Garage and Disco, showcasing forward thinking line-ups and special guest DJ appearances from some of the freshest names in Electronic music. So far we've had Shadow Child, Kry Wolf, Voyeur, Friend Within, Citizen and Waze & Odyssey. This month we invite the Bristolian duo Outboxx.
Operating from the core of Bristol’s 4/4 contingent with releases on iconic labels such as Idle Hands and Futureboogie, Outboxx are one of the city’s most recognisable act’s whose work adds colour to a tough bassweight staple using the jazz-inflected smokiness and key-driven hooks that defined house music back in the glory days.
As deft at crafting dancefloor bombs like ‘Sunshine Mills’ and ‘The Fade’ as weaving slow-burning deep jams like ‘Aporia’ and electro kicker ’Dolph’s Vision’, Outboxx’s bumper catalogue of peak-time singles have found their way into in the record bag of artists as diverse as Julio Bashmore, Deetron, detroit heavyweight Ryan Elliott and Panorama bar resident Tama Sumo. 2013 saw their knack for dancefloor destruction and underground exploration leading them into new musical territories, delivering their debut self-titled LP to widespread critical fanfare and defining an instantly recognisable sound, bringing together vocalist Naomi Jeremy’s dynamic talent with an even broader palette of influences.
On Saturday 9th November, Anthems launches with a three floored special, here at Cambridge's home of Underground music, The Fountain.
Anthems is a series of one off club nights that embody the class and passion of the early 90’s club scene. Using the best in local talent coupled with legendary DJ’s from back in the day, you can expect to hear retro house, club classics, and big anthems all night long. Intimate venues are chosen in an attempt to recreate the friendly vibe of early dance culture, and we add a touch of glamour and exclusivity with our Champagne and cocktail VIP areas.
For their launch Anthems have one of the most influential DJs to ever reside in a club: the one and only "man with the golden ears" Mr Dave Haslam.
Dave Haslam DJ-ed over four hundred and fifty times at the Hacienda, mostly Thursdays and Saturdays through the 'Madchester' years in the late 1980s when his eclectic, open-minded and ground-breaking DJing became a focus for Madchester's indie dance fraternity. Ian Brown, Tim Burgess, Justin Robertson, and the Chemical Brothers have all credited Haslam as an inspiration. this is a rare chance to hear a true pioneer of the UK club scene.
Supporting Dave will be Simon Ryan and the bar will be manned by the HouseOlogy boy's alongside Ozone Breakdown, and DJ Bos.
Aimed at a sophisticated older crowd, the response to promotion has been positively huge. A limited number of VIP tickets sold out weeks before the event so make sure you arrive early to guarantee entry.
Dress to impress, bring a smile, and party hard.
Entry: £5 all night
